Overview:  Scott Paul Wines is dedicated exclusively to the artisanal production of Oregon Pinot Noir of uncompromised quality. In 2005 we launched our Burgundy import company, Scott Paul Selections. We import nearly 100 different wines from 15 producers and sell them nationally through our distribution channels, as well as offer them for tasting and for sale in our tasting room. Red Burgundies are produced from the same grape we grow here – Pinot Noir – allowing us to offer visitors the unique opportunity to taste New World Pinot from Oregon and Old World Pinot from Burgundy side by side.

We believe that Pinot Noir, at its peak of expression, is the ultimate wine of elegance and finesse, and all of our efforts in the vineyards and winery are directed at capturing the intoxicating aromas, the silky textures, and the complex array of flavors that can only come from true cool-climate Pinot Noir.

In the vineyards this means painstaking attention to detail. In the winery this means a bare minimum of intervention.

Low yields (averaging less than 1.7 tons per acre over the last five years) and sustainable viticulture is our mantra in the vines. All wild yeast fermentations, no inoculations, no enzymes, no additives is the mantra in the cellar. New oak is kept to no more than 20% - our desire is that the wood never be a distinguishable flavor component of the wines. Our wines are not manipulated, fined, or filtered, in order to bottle the purest expression of the raw material that nature so wonderfully provides.

We are blessed to work with many of Oregon's finest vineyards, including Maresh, Momtazi, and Ribbon Ridge, as well as our own estate vineyard, Azana on Chehalem Mountain. Our tasting room, winery and offices are housed in two painstakingly renovated circa-1910 granary buildings in historic downtown Carlton.
